Melanie M. Jeschke is the author of Jillian Dare (Revell 2009), a contemporary romantic suspense adaptation of the classic Jane Eyre, and the historical romance series, The Oxford Chronicles (Inklings/Intentions, Expectations and Evasions) by Harvest House Publishers. Though she’s a Californian by birth, T. Elizabeth Renich loves living within driving distance to Civil War history and places in Virginia where she set her books. She has written The Shadowcreek Chronicles, a series of four historically-based novels: Word of Honor, Matter of Trust, Not Without Courage and Strength and Glory. These novels parallel the history of the Civil War from the summer of 1862 until after the war ends in 1865. Her research shows in the details as she intermingles fictitious characters with actual historical figures. The result makes for a fast-paced, historically packed adventure. One of Renich’s goals is to visit all 50 states in the USA before her 50th birthday. (Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Hawaii, have yet to be checked off her list.) She counts her high school Senior Composition teacher as an early influence who encouraged her to pursue writing seriously, and she credits a number of family members involved in the publishing industry for providing her with guidance along the way. Not Without Courage was a medallion recipient from the San Diego Library and Strength and Glory was nominated for the John Esten Cooke Historical Fiction Award and the Lincoln Prize. In her non-author life, Renich worked for the San Diego Chargers and currently works in the coaching office of the Washington Redskins.
